Read these tips to choosing the right place for the right care!

Primary Care

For people who HAVE a primary care provider (family doctor or nurse practitioner)

  • FIRST - check with your family doctor to see if they are open.

    • Patients of these primary care clinics click below to see when they are open over the holidays.

  • If your primary care clinic is not open over the holidays, see different options of care from the list below, including Walk-in Clinics, Mental Health Supports, Urgent Care, etc.

For people who do NOT have a primary care provider 

  • The below health care services are available, including Virtual Primary Care, Walk-in Clinics, etc.)

 

Virtual Primary Care

  • Good Doctors Kingston - for Telemedicine clinic nurse - Monday to Thursday 10 am - 4 pm

Walk-in Clinics

  •  CDK Family Medicine & Walk-in Clinic

    • Open over the Holidays: Dec 28, 29 and 30: 10 am - 2 pm

    • Closed Dec 24 and Dec 31 (Saturdays during holiday period)  and STAT Holidays

    • Resumes regular hours Jan 3

    • Regular Hours: Monday - Friday 9 am -5 pm, Saturday and Sunday: 10 am - 2 pm

  • Crisis Walk-in Services - from Addiction & Mental Health Services of KFLA - no appointment need to come meet with a crisis worker

    • December 28 and 29 at Cataraqui Centre, Kingston - 11:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. (closed from 12:45 to 2 p.m.) and Beechgrove Complex – 2 to 3 p.m. (individuals 12+ only)

    • December 30 at Beechgrove Complex – 2 to 3 p.m. (individuals 12+ only) 

    • January 3, 4 and 5 at Cataraqui Centre, Kingston - 11:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. (closed from 12:45 to 2 p.m.), Beechgrove Complex – 2 to 3 p.m. (individuals 12+ only) and KFL&A Public Health, Napanee - 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed from 12 to 1 p.m.

(These include phone call, text, and video call)

  • Crisis Canada - mental health support for everyone anytime - 24/7/365 by phone or text

Community Care

  • 211 Ontario - Ontario government connecting people to community and social resources

Urgent Care

  • Urgent Care Centre

    • Hotel Dieu Hospital site of KHSC, 166 Brock St., Kingston​

    • Opens daily at 8 am; closing hours vary based on patient volumes and staffing

    • Call 613-546-1240 to find out if the centre has closed patient registration early

    • Go to the Urgent Care Centre when you are unable to get a same-day appointment with a family doctor and your concern needs to be addressed within 24 hours, such as minor broken bones and burns, and cuts needing stitches.

  • Children's Outpatient Centre (COPC) - children's urgent care 

    • ​For patients up until their 18th birthday who require care that can’t wait for an appointment with their family doctors.
    • Hotel Dieu Hospital site of KHSC, 166 Brock St., Kingston​ - enter through main entrance​

    • Open: December 27 - 30 and resumes regular weekday hours on Tuesday Jan. 3 from 9 am - 4 pm

Emergency Care

  • Emergency Department  - open 24/7 

    • Call 9-1-1 or go to the Emergency for critical or life-threatening conditions that need immediate attention. If a person could die or be permanently disabled, it is an emergency.

    • Kingston: Kingston General Hospital site of KHSC, 35 West King Street

    • Napanee: Lennox & Addington County General Hospital, 8 Richmond Park Drive

  • Frontenac Paramedics Emergency Care - 24/7 emergency care

    • Call 9-1-1 if someone needs immediate medical attention - for life-threatening or life-changing medical emergencies, especially excessive bleeding, loss of consciousness, chest pain, or stroke symptoms​
